Julien Macdonald Women Spring Summer 2016 - Hot, wet and glamourous are three words that sum up Julien Macdonald SS16. Oil slick models stomped down the runway like fierce mermaids who just found their feet. Wet look hair and dark eye makeup added drama to the theme. Silhouettes were sleek and sexy with cut out, skin tight catsuits and black laddered dresses which were reminiscent of fishing nets.

Inspired by his recent trip to Bali, vibrant jewel tone dresses with opulent embellishments were sent down the runway in true Macdonald style, never one to shy away from glitz. Prints were bold and graphic on the designers first ever menswear looks which were a surprising addition to the mix. Featuring boxy t-shirts and matching shorts paired with gladiator sandals, it seems coordinates are not just for the girls this season.

As the show continued we saw more of the dazzling floor sweeping gowns Julien is best known for. The stunning show stopper at the end was a white embroidered jumpsuit with a long train and plunging neckline. A beautiful modern twist on a traditional wedding gown, fit for a goddess bride.
