Autumn-Winter 2012/13 — With D&G in the dim and distant past, the dynamic duo put their all into a extravagant show. The chandeliers bedecked in rose garlands were just the tip of the iceberg as each piece looked to be dipped in the finest gold. It was historic in both the beauty and the fact that the clothes looked to be from the eighteenth century elite, including fine-art cherub prints. The opulence of the black capes, velvet dresses and thickly embroidered coats were just as lavish as they were spellbinding. Heavy gold embellishment and jewels twisted around waists, pockets and necklines and on coats, dresses, skirts and tops. If the clothes weren’t adorned in gold, then they were rolled in flower beds as florals were woven into delicate lace of cutesy knickerbockers. Chandelier earrings, silk, gold, velvet and lace can only mean one thing: lavish, luxurious and damn-right lovely.
