Dries Van Noten

Spring – Summer 2014

Dries Van Noten revealed his collection in Paris today, a collection which was eagerly awaited. Once more, the artistic director of the Belgium fashion house did not disappoint. The audience was here to witness his genius. The basic and the oppulent were combined wonderfully, the designer has created extremely detailed and delicates pieces, where golden touches and rich floral prints finished sweaters, sportwear vest straps and blouses.

There is no doubt that Dries Van Noten was certainly inspired by his research for his exhibition that could be seen in February next year at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. A gold waist-flap was perfectly associated with neutral colours, a cream jacket and a grey top, and finished off with a flamboyant black skirt. The show reached his heigh with some of the last silhouettes, a 3D embroidery golden baroque dress as well as a black and gold scupltural ruffled appliqué.

The designer made the unexpected matches in harmony.

The Golden touch, I said.
