Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The mass of smoke unleashed Marc Jacobs mysterious collection. With his oversized, slouch hats, the girls wore tan blazers with bejeweled pockets and buttons. More interesting was the nod to the ‘three-piece’ as skirts were worn over trousers solidifying the trend to come out of autumn/winter. It was smart-chic, as Mary Jane’s were converted into huge platforms, skirts tailored patchworks of matt and patent leather and large lapels dominated jackets. The wide silhouette was created by thick layering covering much of the skin; swaths of fabric took over the girls. Brown trousers worn under a bronze maxi-dress, under an orange jacket with red lapels examples the frolic with colour and style. Glittering purple and red, psychedelic printed suits and the long lengths were all incredibly mature, but at the same time, playful evidenced with overtly embellished suits. It was a wonderful array of tailoring demonstrating the class of Jacobs.
