Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Lanvin were the first ones to celebrate their 10th birthday with their bright and boastful collection. With cakes on arrival it was a rainbow of colours upon the start of the show: first came green, then purple, next yellow, followed by red…and it didn’t stop there, to join the colours were peplums, a rupture of ruffles and an assortment of innovative collars. An abrupt halt to the brightness came by way of the black fur and leather dresses, notwithstanding elbow-high leather gloves and chunky ankle boots. With fierce lion headed waist belts, the ferocity of the black and leather was only too clear, offering a remarkably start contrast to the start of the show; it was exciting. Ruffles were the start of the show, rippling round hems, collars, and waists, while gold and black brocade combined with jewels offered the perfect party dresses – Happy Birthday Lanvin!
