Spring-Summer 2014 – This collection by Maison Martin Margiela was a collection of contrasts. The outfits were either completely dark colours or completely white, there is no middle ground. The shirt, jacket and trousers are all black followed by an outfit consisting of a white vest top, trousers and sleeveless jacket. There was also some grey and beige for the light coloured outfits and dark blue and brown for the darker outfits. The choices of fabrics was very interesting, especially the juxtaposition of a shiny fabric, next to a matte one to create a contrast. This was all done with different shades of the same colour. There are lots of sleeveless jackets and unbuttoned shirts as a practical hint at Spring/Summer wear ability. There are also some sheer fabrics, which make the garments more practical for the season.
