Tom Ford to launch e-commerce

Posted on

If you head to Tom Ford’s website you’ll be in for something of a surprise: a close-up shot of a man’s crotch featuring a leather belt and ice white jeans. There’s also a manicured lady’s hand slipping under said gentleman’s waistband.

Other images feature a bare-chested lady covering up with one of the designer’s handbags, a crocodile bag hiding a different model’s posterior, and a pair of tanned, bare legs kneeling in Tom Ford stilettos. It’s all typically provocative stuff from the fashion legend who once courted controversy with a 2003 Gucci ad featuring the brand’s logo shaved into a model’s pubic hair.

And it’s all in honor of the designer’s decision to offer e-commerce with an online store, which is “Opening Spring 2014,” according to the brand. While the designer currently sells his shoes, accessories and cosmetics online in stockists including Bergdorf Goodman, the spring launch will be the first time you’ll be able to shop the designer’s ready-to-wear options via the web.
