The Italian-born designer, famed for his gothic and religious prints, created five separate looks for Li Yuchun, including a couture organza cape and hand-embroidered skirt worn over tuxedo pants, all worn at different points in the singer’s new show.

Tisci’s a dab hand when it comes to this sort of thing, having famously designed the sumptuous outfits for Madonna’s 2012 performance during the Super Bowl half-time show. He has also recently created stage wear for tours by Rihanna and Beyoncé.

It’s part of a growing trend, and the male stars haven’t escaped either, with both Drake and Kanye West receiving custom outfits from upmarket brands Calvin Klein Collection and Maison Martin Margiela over the past few weeks.

Twenty-nine-year-old Chinese pop singer and actress Li Yuchun (also known as Chris Lee) first rose to fame when she won the TV singing contest “Super Girl” in 2005, and is now one of the country’s biggest stars.
