Designers create Christmas trees for charity auction in Paris

An awakening of the senses will be the unifying theme of this 18th edition, organized in collaboration with Christmasworld, the international Christmas expo held in Frankfurt. The Christmas trees presented by participating designers will be auctioned on December 9, and proceeds will go to Professor Khayat’s AVEC Foundation, which promotes the fight against cancer.

Among the event’s regular contributors, Dior, Diane von Furstenberg, Elie Saab, Stella McCartney, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maxime Simoens, and Roger Vivier will return this year to contribute trees.

This year, for the first time, the auction will also include edible trees. Auction attendees can bid on delectable creations from Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno and famous pastry chef Pierre Hermé.

Algerian lingerie designer Zahia Dehar has also been invited to design a Christmas tree for the first time. Her creation, made with Venetian glass, matches the style of the quirky pop-up tea room and lingerie store she opened in Paris last July.

All of the trees will be on display to the public at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris from December 4 to 8 before going up for auction on site and online on December 9.
