COS to hit USA in 2014

Owned by the fast fashion giant H&M, COS (an acronym for the atypically clumsy Council of Style) will be popping up in Manhattan in Spring 2014.

Alongside a store in the SOHO district of New York City, the brand will also be launching US e-commerce offer, following hot on the tails of the H&M online shop which went live earlier this summer.

Known for their minimalist cuts, and slick fabric finishes (think neoprene and coated wool), items in the COS line are priced slightly higher than the main H&M lines and are presented in separate stores, all with a pared-back Scandinavian design vibe.

Launched in 2007 with a first store on London’s Regent Street, COS has grown internationally into a hip upper high-street favorite with stores in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Earlier this year the label announced new locations in Turkey, Switzerland and mainland China all set to open before the end of 2013.
