Lasting

Lasting fabric is a hard-wearing, dense cloth. It is generally manufactured from cotton or worsted. These fibres are ‘hard-twisted’ which means that the yarns have high twists per inch level, making them hold the fibres together more easily. Twist is added in both the spinning and the plying processes, depending on the end result of the fabric. Lasting fabric is a strong fabric that can withstand tension. This fabric was formally known as ‘Everlasting’ because of the lifespan of this fabric in general. It is used for shoe uppers, bag linings and protective clothing; all garments that are expected to last well.
