Dobby

Dobby Fabric is any type of fabric that has been constructed using a Dobby weave. Dobby weave is created on a loom that lower or raises the warp thread and thereby creating patterns such as stripes, checks and other geometric designs. It is similar to a Jacquard weave but much simpler, which allows for the production of more complex designs. Dobby Fabric is generally made from Nylon, Cotton or various other blends depending on the properties required. Cotton Pique is a dobby fabric and is generally used for clothing. Moss Crepe, Barathea, Birdseye cotton and Mattelasse fabric are all woven using a dobby weave.
