Courreges

Courreges Woman Autumn-Winter 2016 – Tapping into the industry’s current desire for separates, Courreges sent models down the runway not in a selection of styled looks but in one key piece teamed with simple white or black tops, trousers or briefs. As a result, the eye was immediately drawn to the diversity of the collection, which covered bodysuits to blazers and combined echoes of the Space Age with classic tailoring.

There was a simplicity to the designs, with a focus on providing a sleek silhouette as well as wrapping up warm against the winter chill to come. Alongside eye catching bodysuits which evoked otherworldly comfort and low slung metallic mini skirts, coats were a key staple of the collection. Long knee-length styles with structured shoulders were quickly followed by shiny leather biker jackets, modelled by both genders in an array of different colours, with cobalt blue and bright red the most popular recurring shades.

As each style effectively took to the runway multiple times in tweaked palettes, extra attention could be given to the intricate details of the designs. A particular highlight were the unzipped trousers, worn loose and open to reveal a further zip behind, giving a cheeky edge to a very wearable piece.
