Bowler

The Bowler hat was created in 1849 in London by the company Lock and Co. through a customer’s request. A bowler hat is made in a hard felt and is rounded on the crown. It was originally designed as an alternative to the top hat when gameskeeping, it was harder to knock off. The hat soon became popular being worn by many men for different jobs and was a fashion item frequently worn throughout the American West. In England, the bowler hat was fashionable through the Victorian era, being a uniform for bankers and the working class.
