Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Vivienne Westwood Red Label Women Autumn-Winter 2015 – Punk and politics are never far from Vivienne Westwood but today’s show also saw the designer offer her guests a short verse of poetry.

Emblazoning her invitations with the words ‘Vote Green’, Westwood urged her guests to consider that “what’s good for the planet is good for people” too. Given Westwood’s recent use of her collection launch to promote votes for Green, models were given a red sweep of  tribal paint transforming them into Vivienne’s climate warriors adorned in tiger stripes and animal print themes.

An interesting allusion between masculinity and femininity also appeared, with the traditional tailoring and streamline structures featured across grey and striped suits being contrasted so boldly against the pretty pastel pinks and womanly shapes of later gowns. Of course the love of layering and punk edge that runs throughout Westwood collections was not absent this time around either with the designers famous tartans customised into trousers, dresses and blazers.

Use of velvets see Westwood providing warmth for winter whilst a closing black lace gown look with cowl neckline and oversized choker necklace was sported by model Daisy Lowe.
