Versus Woman Spring Summer 2017 – For the twentieth anniversary of Versus, Versace’s sister label brought a show full of sass, empowerment and boldness. The models boldly walked out in an industrial, dark setting with bright spotlights swirling around. They presented tough ensembles to match the attitude of the presentation. Key pieces of the collection included biker jackets, ripped denim and bold metallics.
Leather dominated the catwalk. There were leather biker jackets, dresses, trousers, crop tops and leather biker boots, all complete with the sassy oversized buckles and statement zips.
The collection was mainly a dark collection, but this was complimented by some trendy, lighter shades. The dark clothing, chokers, heels and boots contributed to the biker atmosphere. Khaki was a popular colour alongside metallics and a bright orange.
Donnatella Versace showed off superior expertise through the successful integration of a number of materials. The catwalk was a patchwork of leather, knitwear, mesh and denim. Ripped denim jeans were combined with biker jackets. Khaki knitwear was combined with oversized light-wash denim. Cropped bombers were combined with miniskirts. Bright orange knitwear was combined with metallic skirts. Oversized coats were combined with tiny crops and bold trousers. Dark mesh was used to patch together khaki jumpers and was layered under knitwear and outerwear. All of these elements reflected the punk, darker spring vibe of the catwalk.
The collection was bold in the construction of the clothing. There was a sexy atmosphere created through the short dresses, fitted leather, draped metallic material and the see-through mesh. Both the male and female models showed off the bold cut outs and the racy designs which left little to the imagination.
