Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney Womner Autumn-Winter 2015 – Stella McCartney unveiled a collection true to her signature androgynous aesthetic, showcasing tailored coats, oversized suits and cuffed trousers.

The daughter of Sir Paul McCartney gave us a fresh new take on winter basics for AW15, with her added touch of sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity.
Silhouettes were kept strong, with fluid shapes and easy to wear; solid mannish coats, the classic tailored trouser suit, elongated flared trousers.
Masculine-meets- feminine with corsets built into tailoring belted high waisted trousers, tough pieces given a less harsh edge with asymmetric hemlines.
There were comfy, slouchy knits with abstract twists; asymmetrical detailing, one sleeve sweaters and one shoulder necklines. Ribbed turtle necks layered with tea dresses.
The colour palette was kept simple with black, white and grey with lashings of red, blue and green.
Being a vegetarian, McCartney doesn’t use any leather or fur in her designs, incoming the oversized yeti-like fur faux fur coats in black and white which swamped the models, but are a winter staple.
There was also a dose of crochet floral dress, brocade and moulded pearl necklaces thrown into the mix.
The array of coloured footwear were a great contrast against a the monochrome designs. Hair was scarped back into a ponytail and make up was kept natural.

Stella McCartney delivered an elegant, chic collection which was quintessentially Stella.
