Thakoon

Spring-Summer 2015 – Balancing between textural qualities and distinct print work, Thakoon Panichgul aimed for a summer aesthetic which exuded sophistication and glamour through the use of sleek silk alongside heavier cottons.

Colder blues of winter mixed in with warmer summer colours in clothes that Panichgul managed to navigate the pitfall between classy and tacky. Too much colour behind the pom pom tassels tactfully placed on clean cut dresses and the fine line would have been crossed.

Other pops of colour such as blue and pale yellow fringing brought the plainer stripe graphic prints into the modern world, and the fixture of black and white monochromatic graphic prints having now been seen regularly this September highlighted Panichgul’s knowledge of trends. The attention to detail in the careful design of the prints and the construction of the garments helped to conceive a collection which stayed ahead of the trends.
