Narciso Rodriguez

Spring-Summer 2014 – Rather than reviving the past like so many designers have this spring/summer’14, Rodriguez set her mind on new agenda’s and technicalities: introducing, the ‘half skirt’. Just as suggestive as the mini, the skirt and short fusion presents more practicality and gives the ensembles an urban edge. At first glance, an androgynous ambience was emitted yet stepping closer slithers of sheen fabrics and layers of dainty lace were spotted, bringing back the feminine feel. Flashes of bronzes, pale pinks and oranges eased nicely into the monochrome collection.

Sleek geometric panelling on envelop-like clutches finished with thin straps, were mirrored by equally as dainty accessories: symmetrical strappy sandals with two-tone pointed toes. Spilt colouring was also incorporated in the collections top: white jackets finished with curve-illuminating black leather. Although the silhouettes mostly consisted of square cuts and bandeau necklines, the simplicity of the garments makes for easy day-to-day wear.
