Spring-Summer 2013 – Haider Ackermann is never one to follow the latest trends, he sticks to what he knows, and does it well ensuring a unique collection gravitating away from the core styles of the season. There was a combination of stiff and light silhouettes but with dark hues of grey, black and dark blue with slicked back hair and purple lipstick. Using luxe fabrics for the heavier and richer look, there were beautiful tailored suits with thick obi belting to bring in the waist. The waist was a key component of the show, it was tight, exaggerated and came with a variety of fabrics tied around it. The clothes were also risky being both sultry and sexy: chests and stomachs were laid bare under jackets and translucent dresses. On the lighter side, there were trails of chiffon and cascading dresses and skirts yet at the same time to contrast the tight high-waist trousers and thick layered jackets. It was a poetic show with an undercurrent of dark romance.
