Paul Smith

Spring-Summer 2013 – It was the sixties and a mod man was gracing the catwalk, except it was this week in Paris at the Paul Smith menswear show. Paul Smith said “Optimism” was his word for the season and he brought that out in bright colours and stylish silhouettes. He showed cigarette trouser suits in dusty pastels and mustard yellow, coral and midnight blue, two tone leather jackets and schoolboy sandals. There was a definite funkiness we are used to seeing in Paul Smith menswear, the type of young fashionable professional who wouldn’t be caught dead in last season’s clothes, or a punk rock band from earlier times. A couple of prints were shown, but what we will remember is the colours.
