Comme des Garçons

Autumn-Winter 2011/12 - Comme des Garçons managed to successfully achieve what every designer wants for and every consumer hankers after, dressing for comfort, but at the same time managing to exude style! Black and white gangster shoes and shiny slip on ankle boots teamed with floral trousers and long overcoats makes for a pyjama, dressing gown and slippers look. Bizarre wigs and hairstyles made to look like matted bed head and baggy jeans and tapered trousers, gives the collection a touch of the Addams family. Denim jeans teamed with a smoking jacket, cropped fisherman’s trousers and harem trousers make the look almost circus like enhanced by frill trimmed or polka dot cuffs and collars.  Bright garish prints and red jackets with gold polka dots teamed with flowery trousers, makes me instantly think of a Master of ceremonies in the travelling circus.  It’s almost as though they are making clothes out of whatever material they can find and it’s a veritable feast for the eyes and fashion appetite!
