Céline

Céline Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Even the presentation of Phoebe Philo’s designs was innovative; with the audience sat on a rotating circle that offered a 360 degrees view of the fabulous creations, models stampeded out in no set pattern or rhythm, creating a wondrous fusion of understated chaos.

To open the show Celine displayed an array of trench coats, wrapped at the front and revealing a matching pant in an off-green colour being just one example, with many featuring a leather hood that was flimsily tied just below the neck. This soon developed into a multitude of tuxedo suits with high stand collars and loose fitting, elongated sleeves; one such design was feminized by a silk belt with a monochrome print to bring emphasis to the waist in an otherwise baggy structure. Straightforward constructions were too seen in an oversized striped shirt and camisole-type dresses with narrow straps and attached drooped sleeves, in both long and short styles.

Celine’s ensembles are ones that epitomize a ready-to-wear collection: cool, effortless and stylishly simple.
