Valentino Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Beautifully matching deep reds with standout pinks, Valentino presented a show that had a lyrical grace in every outfit.

Exuding a Victorian romance, silhouettes were drenched in tunics, and uniquely printed smocks, with many looks featuring elongated lines, high-necked collars and tight pleats or small ruffled detailing to give an old-line feel. A semblance between the traditional and the modern was seen in a red and pink midi-dress, ruffled down the sleeves with thick pleats in alternating colours and flared hem, paired with a cool-red leather boot. An assortment of prints was also used, including swirling patterns, blocked sections and vintage floral designs – imparting a truly multifarious and meticulously thought-through set of features.

Beaded necklaces with attached gold chains were matched with bold burgundy and plum lips, and a dramatically gothic lower-lash stroke of red, giving a rock-chic flavor. A bohemian braid was also used throughout, toning down otherwise sultry looks with a relaxed yet bewitching mood.
