Milan Fashion Week: Classical influences at Angelos Bratis

Angelos Bratis emerged at the end of his show with a ‘Grazie Giorgio’ sign, his way of publicly thanking the Italian fashion giant for his support, the sixth season that Armani has supported the initiative. 

The 2011 ‘Who’s On Next’ winner was born in Greece (and then trained in the Netherlands before his move to Milan), and his Spring/Summer 2015 collection riffed on many of his homeland and his adopted country’s Classical antiquity themes. 

Bratis sent out long column gowns with blocks of different colors (mostly sticking to cool tones and sharp angles, but there was a smattering of print) as well as cocktail dresses with architectural folds. The footwear was Classical too with most of the models trotting out in chic minimalist sandals with a heel.  

The Classical theme continued with the metallic necklaces which hung (half like ancient oxen harnesses, and half like snakes) from around the collarbones of the models, and the same shape worked as a chunky arm bangle too. The models wore their hair parted in the center and slicked back with product into smooth single plaits.
