Alithia Spuri-Zampetti appointed creative director at Paule Ka

Alithia Spuri-Zampetti has been named creative director of Paule Ka. At just 31 years of age, Spuri-Zampetti has a powerful reputation, having worked for the past six years with Alber Elbaz at Lanvin, in her role as head designer of the brand’s women’s ready-to-wear collections (as pictured).

During her time studying at Central Saint Martins, Spuri-Zampetti interned for a number of reputable designers including Gareth Pugh, Peter Jensen, Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen. Before graduating in 2008, the designer took a year out to gain work experience with several international designers, including Bruno Pieters, Viktor & Rolf, Marc Jacobs, and Valentino. She began her official role at Lanvin in 2009.

Spuri-Zampetti replaces Serge Cajfinger as creative director, who founded Paule Ka in 1987. Cajfinger departed from the label in 2014, to pursue “personal projects”, but will remain a minority shareholder, according to WWD. In January 2015, Catherine Vautrin was appointed chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the label. Vautrin has previously been CEO of Louis Vuitton Malletier, Emilio Pucci, and most recently, Cerruti.

Depite Spuri-Zampetti’s young age, her breadth of experience makes her an ideal creative director for the Paule Ka brand.
