Adidas #mizxflux app takes sneaker customization to new heights

Enabling easy access, mobile customization is only half the story: Users will be able to truly express themselves by photographing anything they wish and sending it to the app to be printed on their Mi ZX Flux sneakers.

A press release from Adidas describing the app uses the word “almost” so limitations within the realm of human decency are to be expected and the company reminds users in countries where the app is soon to be available that their photographs are subject to Adidas’s discretion.

After selecting their size, users will be able to maneuver their design in a 360-degree 3D preview image until it’s perfectly aligned on their shoe.

In July, Adidas Originals invited testers for a launch party in Berlin where they showcased their most recent customizables which include Stan Smith, ZX Flux and Superstar 80s.

These three styles are already available for what will soon be known as conventional color customization on miadidas.com.

Their main competition is NikeiD, which offers striking graphics to its collection of customizable-online products.

The app is coming only to select countries which include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden, with others coming soon.
