虫形纹是不规则的扭曲线条图案。它的名字来自拉丁语，意思是“蠕虫”。这种图案以曲线制造出回圈的纹路、弧形或不规则的波浪线。虽然底布的颜色和线条的颜色需要一种对比的效果，但虫形纹可以使用许多不同的颜色，。该图案被印刷到成品织物上，因为这种图案不能用色织的方法做出。
