Autumn-Winter 2012/13 The colour palette ranged from the bright and boastful, to the straightforward and sophisticated. At times, exuberant colours of red, purple and a host of pinks clashed and contrasted, while blacks grey and beige added snippets of sensibility. The fanciful clothes resonated the idea of the peacock; boisterous yet continuously classy. Texture play paired feather Mongolian furs with synthetic-like fabrics. Innovation came by way of rigid leather lattice work moulding tops and coats. This moulded feel was a continuing theme; the clothes stood away from the body. Paper-bag like skirts had puckered and raised waistlines and along with tulip shaped dresses, the waist to hip ratio contoured a womanly silhouette. There was sass and style via cut-out cleavages forming from collars and high-necks and amid the wild and wonderful there were commercial-friendly pieces with hooded wool coats and warm dresses — Thakoon has created the perfect balance between sumptuous and style.
