Manish Arora

Spring-Summer 2013 – Despite a time of audacity, there was no scaling down at the Manish Arora show, which oozed luxury. Take for example, the metallic gold leggings which, upon closer inspection were scaled and made richer with gold heels and an abundance of jewels such as large beaded earrings and crown like headbands. This became more exuberant with bright yellow tunics and faux graphic jewels printed around the neckline. This was also true for plush mint green voluptuous skirts made more dazzling with animated jewels and lion heads. Again, the dress-trouser accompaniment was a strong and successful look and made more vivacious with the patterns, colours and head jewels. It was a story of excess: excessive embellishment, jewels, fabrics and colours. Yet it was also the tale of a princess with opulent coats and iridescent sheer gold and blue leggings. Sumptuous colours, copious prints and a dazzling amount of embellishment and jewels developed a collection fit for a Queen.
