Spring-Summer 2012 – The ferocity of the Givenchy collection hit hard once more. The fierce models were ever fiercer with this hardcore collection – look to the oversized shark teeth pendants hanging from their necks for corroboration. Models wore skin tight Jodhpur-style leggings only loosened by the silver zips untied at the ankles.  Smart tuxedo jackets hung lower at the back, teamed with shirts pined high up the neck often in cream and sometimes in the statement Givenchy black. The clothing hung tight to the silhouette in colours of cream, baby pink, khaki and silver, whilst snakeskin often lined the jackets. Chiffon tunics fell in tiered layers, showing snippets of bare skin through sheerer fabric. The ruffled tops, scaled dresses and  shimmering sequins all paid homage to the aquatics, which was this time, in the guise of the mermaid. The collection was  smooth and sleek but the message was still as cool as ever.
