Autumn-Winter 2013/14

Karl Lagerfeld dreams big. His dreams also seem to come true. The Chanel show is sure to be one of the most memorable of this season, the models walked around a circular catwalk on which a giant globe rotated, there was an added touch of flags with the Chanel logo marking where the fashion house has stores.  Was the globe a hint at things to come? A symbol of Chanel’s success? Or simply just a beautiful focal point?

Karl stuck to a largely black colour palette, which is typical of the designer but he introduced elements of grey, navy and rose alongside occasional moments of metallic to add further interest to the designs.

The collection hinted at military inspiration featuring floor-sleeping outerwear with prominent collars, though some designs went further for example geometric A-line skirts and velvet dresses.
