Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Christopher Kane conjures, stimulates and stirs up emotion like no other as he consistently delivers a fashion masterclass. The anticipation preceded the collection but the collection never failed to transform the way we look at clothes; a mixture of punk and goth while being limitlessly elegant, who knew the latter could connote with something seen as so rebellious? Black, leather and PVC induced tough fashion as black leather jackets began a hardened attitude throughout the show, be it short-sleeved chiffon dresses appliquéd with black velvet flowers and think pliable leather, or tube skirts tailored from a delicate leather print. Panels missing at the midriff of dresses were up against pillar box red cashmere trousers with black side seams and, in true rock style, they were worn with sturdy leather shoes or ankle boots. A run of alluring beaded dresses in purple, red and white created the elegance with the rock; the maestro Kane succeeded again.
