Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The concept was a difficult one to understand but on that definitely grabbed attention. The first outfit to career down the runway was a head to toe camel ensemble with a three piece suit, heavy roll neck jumper and a camel overcoat. Initially one thought this would be a collection of understated luxury, and then came the garish patent trousers of the next model and bear like faux fur coat with matching bag to follow. A tuxedo in soft dark denim complete with drawstring trousers and a cardigan made of 1000 bin bags begged more questions, certainly not environmentally friendly but what does this mean? Fashion is garbage? It couldn’t be, with his enticing fur lined coats and red leather trousers this collection was anything but defining, and yet it defined Madison Martin Mariel.
