Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – Never one to conform with the unwritten rules of the catwalk, JPG’s show ran over an hour late and when it came to it, there was drama and clothing that was a far cry away from the romance and glamour of the couture garments. First up, a black tuxedo paired with bowler hat, next a suit-turned-jumpsuit with a netted hat headpiece to go with it. It was gothic; red lipstick, dark eyeshadow, and the models had the attitude to match. Reworked tuxedos consisted of leather panels, chiffon sleeves, ultra-cropped fronts, and long tails. There was plenty of sheer fabric whether it be see-through jumpsuits, skirts to a much more risqué feel with entire panels of fabric cutout to be replaced with see-through chiffon. Unsurprisingly, black was the predominant colour, with touches of gold to create floor-length coats and sweeping trousers. The extravagant finale gowns embodied luxury: chiffon, fur, tassels and plenty of ingenuity.
