Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana Man Spring-Summer 2017 – In an era shrouded by depression and worldwide misgivings, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana chose to give their audience a break by teleporting them back to the Jazz Age. A golden era of partying – the showed oozed arrogance, wealth and extravagance. Whether it was the expertly tailored suits or the bulging muscles that embellished topless torsos, the atmosphere was one of affluence and health. Lavish jackets were printed boldly: from polka dots with trumpets and cellos, to pineapples with palm trees – each were paired with animal print trousers, creating looks as loud as the earphones carelessly strung around the neck. Wide leg trousers contrasted with fitted shirts, and oversized bomber jackets billowed over cigarette pants, re-envisioning classic styles as timeless as the jazz music booming. Trilby hats slouched atop heads with a bored nonchalance, complementing pinstripe suits and together shaping a 1920’s gangster appeal. A grand colour palette focused on red, black, and white, while certain boxy jackets glittered like champagne in gold sequin.
