Alexis Mabille

Alexis Mabille Woman Autumn-Winter 2017-18 – Threads of off-gold, inky blues and sultry black garments all combined in an exquisite collection that celebrated heart, beauty and a striking femininity.

Regal stature was magnificently displayed in a warm gold, short bustier dress with the slightly flared hem adding a luxurious fullness to the back of the design.  A stunning collection of frilled hems, sweetheart necklines and an emphasis on the free-flowing movement of the fabrics were brought out in Mabille’s collection, with a thick swipe of gold eye shadow reaffirming the consistent theme of enchantment.  Thin and delicately embodied sleeves were contrasted next to jumpers of one blocked colour, which awarded a certain amount of poise to an old-time favourite.

A particular standout was the use of elaborate material tied around the waist, almost in a bow-like fashion, to give some of the heavier pieces a softer, and more defined figure. A metallic sheen was given to many of the creations in the collection, drawing attention to the navy and gold contrast that emanated throughout.
