Alexandre Vauthier

Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2015 – Vauthier seemed to focus the collection on fabric manipulation and his main source of inspiration was animal skins. Ranging from croc effect skits to printed flouncy shirts. Providing effortless construction techniques, as expected at Haute Couture.

The collection favored oversized styling. But included side slit trousers, capes, plunging blazers, bejeweled ball gowns and boiler suits. Alongside the SS15 trend: oversizing everything.

Vauthier did not leave anything to the imagination this year. Exposing hipbones, pins and tums, masked with transparent material to maintain the feminine silhouette.

Although the accessory that caught the entire FROW’s attention, was necklaces and belts reworked from the hospital. With much more embellishment, glamour and luxury. Vauthier managed to make neck braces, fashionable.

The colour palette was kept minimalistic, unlike the accessory choices. Made up of black, emerald green, leaf green, silver, white and cream. The toned down colours instantly add sophistication and class to the collection.
