JFK grandniece, cabbie’s daughter to make Paris ball debut

Robert Kennedy Jr, son of Senator “Bobby” Kennedy and nephew of US president JFK — both of whom were assassinated — will open the ball with his daughter Kyra at the prestigious Automobile Club of France on November 30, organiser Ophelie Renouard said late Tuesday.

Lauren Marbe, the 17-year-old daughter of a London taxi driver whose sky-high IQ of 161 has stunned her teachers, will also take part in this high-society highlight.

Launched in 1992, the annual event is inspired by a custom stretching back to the royal courts of France and England, where young ladies were formally introduced to society during this “presentation” to eligible bachelors.

Dressed by famous fashion houses such as Dior and Givenchy, and accompanied by cherry-picked “cavaliers”, the daughters and granddaughters of a global elite of actors, business leaders and aristocrats from countries as varied as China and Italy will participate.

Lady Amelia Windsor, whose grandfather the Duke of Kent is the Queen’s cousin, will be present, as will Romy David, daughter of US actor and producer Larry David, and Zoe Springer, granddaughter of German media mogul Axel Springer.

The cavaliers will include Anthony Ghosn, the 19-year-old son of Renault and Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn, whose daughters have also attended the event in previous years.

“Le Bal” is held every year in late November during the US Thanksgiving weekend. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to the “Enfants d’Asie” charity for Asian children.

Past debutantes include the daughters of actors Sylvester Stallone and Clint Eastwood, blockbuster author Daniele Steel, and the granddaughters of ex-Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
