The first joint collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 will go on sale globally in August under the Barbour for Land Rover banner.

The companies, which officially announced their partnership on Wednesday, promise that the range of men’s and women’s apparel, through a lifestyle collection, will be focused as much on durability and reliability as it will be on style.

The collection will be split into two ranges: Country Lux and Black Label. Country Lux brings contemporary tailoring and cuts, plus a new exclusive tartan pattern to clothing inspired by the British countryside. As well as waxed and quilted jackets, Country Lux will also extend to accessories and matching luggage.

Black Label brings things right up to the present as a range of clothing equally suitable to the big city as it is to rural pastimes. Described as understated, stylish and practical, the range includes knitwear with an exclusive black gloss trim as well as jackets.

Of the partnership, Robin Colgan, Land Rover Global Brand Director, said: “Barbour for Land Rover will produce clothing which will draw from both brand’s rich heritage and shared understanding of how style and functionality work together to culminate in products which are sophisticated, capable, durable and reliable.”

While Steve Buck, Managing Director, Barbour added “The unrivalled reputation of both our brands is founded upon a long history of listening to our customers and producing products of the highest quality that combine modern innovation with tradition and heritage. The new Barbour Land Rover clothing range is fit for purpose, practical and stylish and we are delighted and proud to be working in partnership with Land Rover.”

The Barbour for Land Rover will be sold through both companies’ retail outlets worldwide when the collection officially launces in August.
