Foulard

Foulard pattern is made by repeating small motifs across the entire piece of fabric. This pattern can be made using various different motifs and was typically printed onto silk fabric. This fabric was then used in tailoring and the soft, lightweight silk was actually known as ‘Foulard.’ Foulard pattern is printed onto a finished piece of fabric and although the scale is usually kept small, many different colours can be used.
