Flannelette

Flannelette fabric is an inexpensive flannel fabric made exclusively from cotton. It has a soft napped finish, similar to flannel fabric but this is applied to one side only. It is made by raising or brushing the fibres in the weft. It comes in many colours and can be dyed or printed with patterns. It is warm and comfortable to wear. It is used mainly for children’s wear and night wear. Finishes can be applied to flannelette to make it flame retardant so that it is suitable for use in clothing.
