Ethnic patterns are patterns, designs or motifs based on a certain nationality. These patterns differ from place to place but are generally based on the folk art of that country. These types of patterns are generally bold and simplified to make a dramatic statement and usually have a repeat to them. They range in colour and scale and are almost always printed or painted onto the finished piece of fabric rather than being woven it.
