Double Knit

Double knit is a thick knitted fabric. It is made using two sets of knitting needles and having a similar appearance on either side of the fabric. It is a weft knit fabric that is made from lots of interlocking loops meaning that the two pieces of fabric cannot be separated. Double knit fabric is a medium to heavyweight fabric that is used for many different garments including those that would be distorted if single knit wool was used as it has the same sort of stability as a woven fabric. It is also reversible as it doesn’t have a ‘wrong’ side.
