Bouclè

Boucle is a fancy yarn that has a curled, looped appearance and a rough texture. It is made by twisting two yarns together so that one of them forms a loop. The loops occur at regular intervals down the length of the yarn and the term boucle also refers to any fabric knitted or woven with Boucle yarns. The name Boucle comes from the French language and means ‘to curl.’ It is often a temperamental yarn to work with and causes problems with catching and snagging on both the knitting machine and once it has been made into garments. Boucle fabric is mainly used for coats, jumpers and suits to create garments with a very interesting surface texture.
