Akubra (Australian)

Akubra is a hat worn traditionally for outdoors in Austrailia. The hat has a wide brim and is medium in height, being pinched at the top of the front. It can be designed in many colours and is created in a felt. The hat may also be referred to as a Slouch hat and it is hard to say as to when Akubra hats were first created. Akubra hats can be accessorised with woven leather placed around the rim base or draw strings as a design feature. They are normally worn by farmers and land workers for protection, being named after the Akubra factory.
