Spring-Summer 2013 – Each season Ralph Lauren pulls together a strong story creating a precise collection. This year was no different as alongside a jolty soundtrack, it was a bold display. The show was strongly international, evoking South American vibes and multi-coloured beading creating necklaces and embroidery. Tassels also indicated  a Latino feel with the low-hanging side bags finished with tassels, and leather trousers with said tassels running all the way down the seam. Hats are back on the agenda like never before; Lauren used Berets and Panama’s to reinstate this. Heavily frilled blouses, gaucho pants, and drop-waist dresses seemed to make the clothes sway, as did the neckties creating a loose and flowing silhouette and a flamenco feel. Red and black dominated the colour palette but the intersperse of multi-coloured stripes alongside the bejeweled cropped jackets, gold twill and ruffled and tasseled dressed embraced the entire collection being that they were exotic to the core.
