Spring-Summer 2012 – We always have high expectations of the house of Valentino; the classic dresses in which every girl dreams of. This time we were delivered the unexpected: a Valentino girl who wears black leather, not red chiffon! Buttered leather has been so popular this S/S and this has been solidified even more. The epitome of leather came with thick black leather trousers – with a finely ruffled waist – black nude and red leather dresses, alongside thin black studded belts which matched the black studded bags. Nonetheless, this is Valentino and creative directors Chiuri and Piccioli couldn’t resist adding sparkling sandals and nude and red floral lace gowns. The renaissance style print was applied to leather, cotton and chiffon meaning the most masculine pieces were given a dainty semblance. To finish, tiers of glittering chiffon fell to the floor in what we knew was symbolic Valentino.
