Miu Miu

Autumn-Winter 2013/14

Miuccia Prada is one impressive woman, after delivering a flawless collection for Prada she created yet another for Miu Miu. Miuccia, we take our hats off to you.

Miuccia said she wanted to present something entirely visual for Miu Miu, something frivolous and romantic with a sporty twist. All of these elements and more were present in the collection, as well as a new silhouette for the label. This silhouette of long jumpers worn over slightly longer skirts, stopping just at the ankle appeared frequently throughout the designs and conjured up a historic, 1900’s type feel. The whole look was then given a jolt of playfulness through the colour scheme of pink, yellow, orange and baby blue.

The collection, though at times conservative, was delightfully fun and had a frivolous feel. The new Miu Miu silhouette looks set to have big impact this A/W.
