Autumn-Winter 2012/13 – The scandal that has surrounded the house of Dior did not transmit onto the catwalk, as pretty colours and feminine silhouettes flounced down the runway making for a polished collection. Though there were some elements of masculine tailoring, it is now given that what this has become is the new femininity: tapered trousers, smart jackets and neat, conservative dresses. Charming pleats graced dress-hems and skirts in a revival of the fifties demure style, especially with clinched waists and the lightness of powder pink. Cute beanie hats joined ribboned thick soled platforms for beautiful ballet-esque shoes and delicate chiffon fell below coats hems solidifying the dainty look. At times, harder elements via black leather, belted jackets and grey PVC trousers were of antithesis to to the softer tones, and put together, there was a synthesis of pink and black, silk and leather.
